Gale Library Trustees address heating crisis from winter weather conditions.

Gale Library · Meeting of February 11, 2026

NH NEWTON — Gale Library Trustees confront heating failure and facility issues from winter weather. Director Michelle Baker reported the oil heating system failure prompted a change from 14-day to 7-day oil delivery schedules, forcing the library to close or reduce hours at times. Trustees unanimously approved donations totaling $536, including $486 from Friends for an Eagle Tribune newspaper subscription and $50 for children's books in memory of Lynne Simone.

The Winter Reading Program launched February 2 through March 21 under the theme "Books and Blankets," featuring activities for children and weekly drawings for adults.
