Gale Library · Meeting of July 8, 2026

NH NEWTON — Newton library board reports strong summer reading enrollment. Gale Library Trustees unanimously accepted June minutes, treasurer's report, and Director Michelle Baker's monthly report on July 8. Chairperson Paula Noon presided; Alternate Trustee Anne Banks voted.

The summer reading program attracted 80 children and 16 adults, totaling 96 registrations. In nonpublic session, Trustees voted to unseal minutes from 2022 and 2023. The board addressed facility issues including installation of a refurbished copier, planned shrub trimming, and the discovery of bats in the attic; Director Baker is coordinating with town officials on removal options.
