Recreation Commission approves spring and summer event calendar

NH NEWTON — Newton Recreation Commission schedules six community events as spring and summer approach. Chair Peggy Connors and Recreation Director Jessica Petruzello led the commission through planning for activities including a St. Patrick's Day cookie decorating party on March 14, Easter celebration on April 4, antiques appraisal on March 21, and yard sale on May 16.
The commission unanimously approved up to $100 each for giveaways at a Gametime School Vacation event on February 25 and Easter event supplies. The commission will recruit one additional lifeguard and work with the Town Administrator to increase weekend pay before advertising the position.
