NH NEWTON — Newton Selectmen approve firefighter hires and fund transfer. The Board of Selectmen unanimously hired Jessica St. Louis and Justin Hubbard as firefighters/EMT-Basic at $24 per hour each and transferred $62,623.79 from the General Fund to the Fire/Rescue Ambulance Account to comply with the Assistance to Firefighters Grant requirements.
Police Chief DiFlumeri reported 1,602 calls for service in June, with two new police officers scheduled for academy training in August. The board also increased Health Department septic inspection fees (Test Pit and Plan review from $50 to $75; Bed Bottom Inspection from $100 to $150) and amended the Right to Know Policy to direct requests to the Town Administrator.
