NH NEWTON — Newton Recreation Commission approves new fitness instructor, launches planning for major summer events. Vice Chairman Joe Simone and the commission unanimously approved contracting Wendy Takesian to teach eight senior fitness classes at $200 total cost. The commission is planning the June 6 Town BBQ with a $10,000 fundraising goal from business donations and may dedicate a new field at the event with fireworks.
The successful Easter Bunny event on April 4 drew steady crowds, and summer beach and park facilities are being prepared for May opening.
