Recreation Commission adopts bylaws, plans 2026 events

NH NEWTON — Newton Recreation Commission unanimously adopts amended bylaws and accepts annual report at first 2026 meeting. Chairman Peggy Connors and the commission, led by Recreation Director Jessica Petruzello, approved governance documents and outlined event planning through June, including new programming for February and April school breaks. Proposed additions include an antiques auction and town barbecue suggested by Vice Chairman Joe Simone.

Swimming lessons are planned for July through August, with Olde Home Day scheduled for September 13.
