Newton Planning Board defers Devaney Energy propane facility review

Planning Board · Meeting of May 26, 2026

NH NEWTON — Planning Board defers design review for the Devaney Energy propane distribution facility. No representatives from Devaney Energy appeared for the May 26 design review of a 4,500-square-foot facility at Industrial Way, though the applicant may return for full-board hearing June 23. Public comment raised safety and nuisance concerns about the facility's proximity to natural gas pipelines, 24-hour operations, and noise in the Industrial Way corridor.

The Board advanced conditions for the 125 Development 44-unit residential site plan presented by Tom Lekborg and Coleman McDonough, extending the final-approval deadline to August 26, 2026.
