Commission directs advocacy on 104 North Main wetlands

NH NEWTON — Newton conservation commission authorizes its chairperson for wetland advocacy at planning board. Chairperson Sandy Estabrook received unanimous authorization to represent the commission's wetland protection concerns at a Planning Board hearing regarding a 104 North Main Street project with an Atlantic White Cedar Swamp and extensive wetlands. The commission also unanimously scheduled a site walk at 11 Merrimac Road for April 22 at 3 p.m. to assess wetland setbacks.
The commission received an $875 grant from the Land and Community Heritage Investment Program, unanimously depositing it into the Stewardship Revolving Account.
