Board grants retroactive garage extension to Laura Lane property

Zoning Board of Adjustment · Meeting of August 5, 2026

NH NEWTON — Zoning Board of Adjustment grants retroactive garage variance extension in split vote. Chair Jack Kozec led the board in a 4-to-1 vote extending James Ryan's 24-by-24-foot garage addition variance at 2 Laura Lane from March 7, 2026 through March 7, 2027, with Alternate Barbara White moving and Frank Gibbs seconding; Roger Hamel voted no. Jonathan Colon's driveway variance was referred to the Planning Board for an amended site plan, as the Zoning Board determined it lacked jurisdiction.

James Richards' incomplete swimming pool application was returned for materials addressing septic system location and lot boundaries. S.E.C Associates presented a preliminary hearing for a dwelling addition and detached barn at 9 Highland Street.
